PRO WRESTLING EVE
Pro-Wrestling: EVE #135: Hit Me Baby One More Time
Friday, June 6th 2025
Big Penny Social, London, UK
EVE Tag Team Championships #1 Contendership Match: Big Beefy Bitches (Rhio & Emersyn Jane) def. Pretty Psycho (Zoe Lucas & Amira Blair) (10:25) (**1/2)
EVE International Championship Match: Anita Vaughan (c) def. Lucia Lee (11:31) (**3/4)
8-Woman Tag Team Match: Bozilla, Millie McKenzie, Alexxis Falcon & Lucy Sky def. Session Moth Martina, Nightshade, Rayne Leverkusen & Skye Smitson (14:53): Though the previous two matches had been good, this is where the show really began to take off. Though ultimately building to an Alexxis Falcon and Nightshade match at the next show, it was Millie McKenzie, hometown girl Rayne Leverkusen, and Bozilla that stood out in a really fun rollercoaster of a match. Bozilla in particular took no prisoners and, though only used sparingly, obliterated poor Session Moth Martina with a Sitout Powerbomb for the victory. (***1/2)
IWGP Women’s Championship Match: Syuri (c) def. Alex Windsor (21:43): Even before she announced that she was officially ‘All Elite’, Alex Windsor has been one of the most exciting and consistent wrestlers on the British independent scene. Yes, I think all viewers anticipated a Syuri victory, but Windor’s ability and hard-hitting offence not only put a kernal of doubt into viewer’s minds, but also drew out ‘big-match’ Syuri, which meant that we got a fantastic match out of it! In fact, aside from her great match with Sareee earlier this year, I would argue that this is the best Syuri match of the year, a brutal back-and-forth which only ended when the champion had to bring out the Vermillion World to finally keep Windsor down. What a way to calk up V1 for Syuri, and what a way to sign off from the British independents - at least for now - for Alex Windsor. (****1/4) Quite honestly, this match topped off what had been a phenomenal night of wrestling. EVE need to take a bow for cultivating one of the most enjoyable and friendly atmospheres I’ve ever been a part of.
STARDOM
NEWS
Former-World of Stardom Champion Maika has successfully undergone surgery on the elbow injury she has been wrestling through for almost three years. Announcing the news with an accompanying image on her personal Instagram account, Maika confirmed that the surgery was a success with the road to recovery now beginning in earnest. When first announced following All-Star Grand Queendom in April, the timetable for recovery was between 9 months and a year. We wish Maika all the best in her recovery and hope to see her back in the ring again as soon as possible.
During Stardom’s June 8th show in Korakuen Hall, Ami Sourei made her way to the ring to announce that she would be finally returning to the ring after almost a year out with injury. It was on July 10th 2024 that Ami announced that she would be out for an extended period of time following both an ACL and MCL tear. A spokesperson from Stardom informed us that Sohrei had actually been wrestling through the pain of an ACL injury for some time before that, but then suffered a torn meniscus on top of that. However, Sourei confirmed at today’s Korakuen Hall show that she will be returning to the ring for the first time in eleven months at THE CONVERSION on June 21st in Yoyogi.
The card for Stardom THE CONVERSION 2025 is starting to take shape after a press conference on the 10th June gave us our first round of match-ups. The event, due to take place on the 21st June in Yoyogi National Gymnasium #2 in Tokyo, will see three titles matches and the return of Ami Sourei from almost a year out with a knee injury. After a hard-fought victory over Alex Windsor to retain her IWGP Women’s Championship, Syuri will defend her belt for the second time in just over a week against Sareee. Winggori will also put up their Goddesses of Stardom Championships against the Cosmic Angels pairing of Natsupoi & Saori Anou, and Rian – fresh off her first ever pinfall victory two days ago – will take on Hina for the Future of Stardom Championship. Elsewhere, Ami Sourei returns from a nasty injury for the first time since July 7th 2024 in an 8-woman tag team match against H.A.T.E, and Risa Sera – who announced that she will be retiring from wrestling on January 12th 2026 – will take on HANAKO. HANAKO made her wrestling debut against Sera back in August of 2022, and wrestled some early events under the name ‘Fella Risa’.
Hazuki appeared at Sendai Girls’s 8th June show in Shinjuku FACE to challenge DASH Chisako to a match. It was decided that the match would take place at the company’s next Korakuen Hall show - due to take place on the 19th July - and would be under Hardcore Rules, though no official confirmation has come from Sendai Girls at the time of writing.
RESULTS & REVIEWS
Stardom in Korakuen Hall 2025 June
Sunday, June 8th 2025
Korakuen Hall, Tokyo
Attendance: 1,405
Attendance Note: The announced attendance inside Korakuen Hall in Tokyo was 1405. This continues a trend of 15 of the last 16 Korakuen Hall shows to exceed 1,000 people, and is now the eleventh Korakuen Hall show in a row to surpass 1,000 people; made all the more impressive when you consider that no title matches were on this card, it is the second show in a row with no big Saya Kamitani match, and it is still a 19.47% increase on the previous show which did feature a White Belt match between Starlight Kid and HANAKO (1,176 on 21st May). This number brings Stardom's average attendance for the 168 shows they have ran at the venue to 945.
Singles Match: Yuna Mizumori def. Ema Maishima (5:59)
Future of Stardom Championship #1 Contendership Match: Rian def. Akira Kurogane (9:29): 123 matches. 123 matches without a pinfall victory, and one here gives Rian the opportunity to face Hina for the Future of Stardom Championship at THE CONVERSION. It’s an interesting dynamic as you have two inexperienced wrestlers giving their all in the most important match in their respective careers, and you feel like it could be a mistake born of a little bit of rashness or nervousness that could be the opening needed. Sure enough, it’s Akira that breaks first, and Rian is able to roll her up with her Bodyscissors European Clutch variation she has christened Apricot to get her first win; made all the more special by Maika being on commentary. (***1/4) Following the match, Hina marches out and congratulates the youngster, with the pair making their future title match official for the upcoming CONVERSION PPV.
8-Woman Tag Team Match: God's Eye (Saki Kashima, Hina, Tomoka Inaba & Kiyoka Kotatsu) def. Hazuki, Koguma, Yuria Hime & Kikyo Furusawa (11:58)
Three-Way Match: Suzu Suzuki def. Lady C & Azusa Inaba (6:20)
Tag Team Match: BMI2000 (Natsuko Tora & Ruaka) def. Rice or Bread (Waka Tsukiyama & HANAKO) (10:11)
6-Woman Tag Team Match: Cosmic Angels (Natsupoi, Sayaka Kurura & Aya Sakura) def. STARS (Hanan, Saya Iida & Momo Kohgo) (13:59): I went into this match thinking that we could get Aya Sakura and Sayaka Kurura challenging for Winggori’s Goddesses of Stardom Championships, but I come out of it with SaoriPoi vs. Winngori instead; it’s like thinking you’ve found $10 in your pocket and then discovering it’s actually a $20. Hanan and Natsupoi is a match-up I don’t feel like we’ve seen enough in a singles capacity, and it’s one I’m even more hopeful we see in the 5Star after seeing the flashes of it here. However, everyone in the match did a tremendous job, from Kurura thundering into Hanan with one of the best Spears I’ve seen outside of Bron Breakker, Natsupoi and Saya Iida’s fantastic back and forth, Momo Kohgo and Aya Sakura’s underrated partnership, this is the perfect outpost match for what will undoubtedly be a sensational title match at THE CONVERSION. (***3/4) After pinning Saya with the Fairial Gift, Natsupoi made an official challenge for the Goddesses of Stardom Championships on the behalf of her and Saori Anou, which Saya and Hanan very quickly accepted. The two teams went to a time-limit draw in last year’s tag league.
Singles Match: Sareee def. Ranna Yagami (9:20): For the second time in just over a week, Sareee has brutally schooled one of the Stardom rookies. However, it’s less a story of Sareee’s dominance here, but more a story of the tenacity and durability of Ranna Yagami, just as it was last week with Aya Sakura! Ranna comes steaming out of the traps and, though her own onslaught is very quickly squashed and she spends the rest of this encounter fending for her life, the moment she manages to snatch the Sun God into an Armbar and then refuses to let it go shows an edge that will be key in the next steps of The Beatstriker’s journey. She was never going to win this match, but that was never the point - it whets the appetite not only for Syuri and Sareee, but also for Ranna’s very exciting future! (***3/4) Following the match, Syuri made a surprise appearance having only wrestled in the UK on Friday evening, to confront Sareee. Having successfully defended against Alex Windsor, Syuri and Sareee shook hands on her second title defence coming up at THE CONVERSION on June 21st in Yoyogi!
8-Woman Tag Team Match: H.A.T.E (Saya Kamitani, Momo Watanabe, Konami & Rina) def. NEO-GENESIS (AZM, Starlight Kid, Miyu Amasaki & Mei Seira) (18:58): Mei Seira needs to be utilised more by Stardom. Even though she wasn’t the main focus of this match, there’s still a sense whenever she gets in the ring that she is a special talent, which makes the fact that she hasn’t defended the High-Speed Championship since March all the more frustrating. That being said, this match was fantastic. Saya Kamitani and Starlight Kid’s interactions were the main crux of the match, and did a great job of teasing that inevitable match we were robbed of during the Okinawa shows. The reactions to them before they have even done anything is unlike anything else on the roster! Elsewhere, the re-ignition of the feud between Momo Watanabe and AZM is a welcome one, and led to a great closing sequence. Not only is it great to see Watanabe back and raring to go, but the additional promise of a NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship match between the two gives her direction she sorely needs heading into 5STAR Grand Prix season. The only real surprise coming out of this match was that no challenges were made for the Red or the White belts, meaning that THE CONVERSION will have neither belt defended. That being said, Syuri and Sareee will more that fill that void at the top of the card! (****)
LOOKING AHEAD…

We start on Saturday the 14th June in Kira Messe Shizuoka, where the main event will see the STARS trio of Hanan, Saya Iida and Momo Kohgo face off with SaoriPoi and Yuria Hime in a preview match ahead of the Goddesses of Stardom Championships match at THE CONVERSION. JOSHI OUT & ABOUT
WWE: On the 6/6 episode of SmackDown, Giulia made her desire for the WWE Women’s United States Championship very clear, attacking her after helping her during a beatdown.
On June 8th at Money in the Bank Los Angles from the Inuit Dome, Giulia was unsuccessful in winning the six-woman women’s ladder match against Rhea Ripley, Alexa Bliss, Stephanie Vaquer, Roxanne Perez and eventual winner Naomi.
Kairi Sane had the opportunity to progress in the WWE Queen of the Ring tournament on the 6/9 episode of Monday Night RAW. Unfortunately, she was unsuccessful in the first round four-way match, with Roxanne Perez stealing the victory to progress to the semi-finals, ahead of the final at WWE Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia on June 28th.
CONTRIBUTOR’S MATCH OF THE WEEK
Scott: Another week, another top-tier Sareee performance. Something tells me this won’t be the last this month either, as the “Summer of the Sun God” is underway. Sareee was a weekend removed from bringing out the best in Aya Sakura, so why not do the same with God’s Eye upstart Ranna Yagami? This match was so much fun with Sareee playing the bad guy and Yagami trying to fight back, time and time again. There’s no one better at this style of match, especially with Nanae Takahashi retiring. Sareee has taken the mantle and is running with it. She’s making these wrestlers show fight, show care, and is willing to give back just as much for those hope spots that make these matches work. While I don’t think this made it to the level of the bout between Sakura and Sareee from the weekend prior, it was still perfectly executed ahead of the match between Sareee and Syuri. Yagami needs to take this performance and grow from it, because if she does, she could be onto something special. A very strong match that did everything it needed to in the end. (***½)
Rob: There’s little better in wrestling at the moment than watching Sareee imperiously dismantle a rookie, and whilst she puts on another dominant display here, it’s the performance of Ranna Yagami I’m more intrigued by. Taking the fight to Sareee instantly, fighting on behalf of her mentor Syuri, Ranna shows no fear, and then attempts to weather a storm of Sareee strikes. This underdog performance then builds with the implementation of the Arm-Bar, wrenching back with such force that she causes the ordinarily stoic Sareee to yell in pain, keeping the hold in for the full five count. Yes, Sareee wins this match, and yes she wins the match dominantly in the end, however it’s all about the performance of Ranna, the way she loses just like Aya Sakura last week. Ranna future looks incredibly bright as she continues to attempt to channel her mentor, while Sareee has the battle of a lifetime on the horizon at THE CONVERSION! (***3/4)
